Obituary of Francine Maloney

Francine Maloney of Thiells, NY passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Joe Raso Hospice Residence on Saturday, February 6, 2021, after a long illness.  She was 70 years old. Francine was born in the Bronx, NY on June 20, 1950 to Frank and Mary Barna. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in the Bronx, Spring Valley High School and Rockland Community College. She married the love of her life, Tim, a Vietnam Veteran, in 1974.  They shared 7 happy years of marriage before he passed away in 1981.

After being employed in several bookkeeping and sales representative jobs, Francine decided to pursue her passion of working in the financial services field. She completed the Series 7 Exam and enjoyed a successful career working as a Financial Advisor for First Investors, and then with Money Concepts, prior to her retirement.

Francine was an avid roller skater and was very proud of being the 1969-70 Roller Dance Champion. She enjoyed many years of skating with her husband and friends at the Paramus and Montvale, NJ Roller Rinks.  She also enjoyed spending summers with her husband on their boat, fishing on the lakes in Harriman State Park. Fran loved being on the water and later took up sailing.  She was active in many organizations, and previously was a member of the Italian American Ladies Auxiliary Club.

Francine was a devoted wife, loving daughter, dear sister and aunt.  She looked forward to spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.  Francine was predeceased by her beloved husband of 7 years, Thomas J. Maloney, and her father Frank Barna.  She is survived by her mother, Mary Barna, of Tomkins Cove, NY, her brother Michael Barna (wife, Mary Alice and their children) of Nyack, NY, her sister Lori Giolli (husband, Chris) of Doylestown, PA, her niece Danielle Umstead (husband, Dylan) of Silverdale, PA, and her nephew and Godson, Michael Giolli of Doylestown, PA. We are happy that she will finally be reunited in heaven with her husband Tim.
