Obituary of George Eliopoulos

George Eliopoulos, 81 , died at 10:40 pm , Friday, February 12, 2021.  He was born on June 25, 1939 in Aigion, Greece to Peter and Vivian Eliopoulos.

George was preceded in death by his wife Sonia (O’Ferrall) Eliopoulos, his parents Peter and Vivian Eliopoulos, his sisters Kiki and Helen Eliopoulos and his brother Elias Eliopoulos.

George is survived by his loving sons and their families.  Survived by Christopher (Lori) Eliopoulos of Garnerville, NY, Paul (Debbie) Eliopoulos of Ramsey, NJ and his loving granddaughters Alison Lisa, Gianna Noelle and Emma Grace and many nieces and nephews.

After moving to the United States from Greece he grew up in Manhattan and served in the U.S. Army.  He was a devoted father and grandfather.  His true source of enjoyment was spending time with his family.

A viewing will be held at T.J. McGowan Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY on Friday, February 19thfrom 11 am – 1 pm.  A prayer service will take place at 1 pm at the funeral home and a burial will immediately follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Haverstraw, NY.
