Obituary of Eileen Sloboda

Eileen Sloboda, born April 12, 1946, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer on October 13, 2021.. 

If you knew Eileen, you knew a Saint. She was one of the kindest and most genuine people you would have ever met. She always had a smile on her face and was happy to help anybody. You could always find her on Saturdays at the 5:30 mass at St. Gregory’s in the second pew. 

She grew up in the Bronx and moved to Queens after she and her husband Richard got married. Later the happy couple and their 4 children moved to Stony Point. On October 17th of this year, Eileen and Richard would have celebrated 51 years of marriage. She was an Avid Yankees fan and loved her music. Sadly, Eileen was called back to Heaven. 

She is predeceased by her son, Michael (1971-2019).  She is survived by her Husband, Richard, Children, Denise (Todd) Daniel (Marcy), Matthew (Josie) and her beautiful grandchildren, Madison, Luke, Jake, Emily and Anneylse. Eileen loved all of the people in her life, and that love is irreplaceable. She will be missed dearly. A visitation will be held from 2 to 6pm Sunday, October 17th at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 North Central Highway, Garnerville, NY 10923. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am Monday, October 18th at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church 25 Cinder Road, Garnerville, NY 10923. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY following the mass. In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society, P.O.
