Mrs. Ruane was the only teacher whoever believed in me. She saw the good that nobody else did. My
condolences to her family.

She was a beautiful soul!
It was a pleasure to be on the same faculty.
She always had a smile and a pleasant word.
She helped students & fellow faculty feel special.
It is very sad that the world lost this beautiful soul.
I love that Planned Parenthood is one of her suggested donation sites. Just like Clare to have a gentle surprise to leave us with.
Condolences Patrick & family & friends!

Claire was always ready with compassion & incredible kindness. She took me under her wing of wisdom & we’d giggle comparing our Manhattan highlights from Carmen as well as sharing newly married adventures. Exceedingly fair & fun for her students to learn in joy!

Our deepest condolences to the Ruane family. Miss Jauntig (as we knew her ) was one of our favorite teachers at TZ. She was always upbeat and fun —Spanish class was one of our favorite classes.

Tim and I were so very sorry to hear of Claire’s passing. She was a valued colleague of the Tappan Zee High School Foreign Language Department, one with whom I taught with for 34 years. There was always a twinkle in her eye, laughter about a funny story to share, and an innovative idea to help our students in their quest for language proficiency. Claire was a dedicated teacher who shall be truly missed. May she rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her. Our condolences to Patrick and her family.

Claire was beloved by teachers and students at Tappan Zee High School. She was a caring, intelligent person who loved making people happy. In the spring, I would walk into my office in the morning and find a beautiful pink Peony just waiting for me. She didn’t do it once ! She did it numerous times in numerous years! From then in, I never saw a Peony without thinking of Claire. II will miss her very much.
To her family: I am so sorry for your loss.

Claire and I lived in the Village of Haverstraw, but we didn't know each other until we met at Tappan Zee H.S. As fate goes, we ended up teaching Spanish in The Foreign Language department for 33 years. The language department was a very close -knit group. So, my friend and colleague of many decades, God bless you and rest in peace. Carlo Carmelo Greco
